Cardoso Racing, in the top 10 with all of its Moto2 and Superstock 600 riders
Tomorrow the last races of the FIM JuniorGP season will be held at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.
The last qualifying session of the season for Cardoso Racing came to an end in Valencia, where the team led by José Luis Cardoso was once again very competitive in Moto2 and Superstock 600.
In the Moto2 European Championship both Roberto Garcia and Borja Gomez have been two of the fastest riders since free practice. Today, in the two qualifying sessions, the two Cardoso Racing riders were among the ten fastest. Both have done a good team work and finally Gomez will start the race from seventh place (1:35.966) and Garcia from eighth (1:36.005). All this in a really tight grid with a separation of less than a second between the Cardoso Racing drivers and the poleman.
Roberto Garcia: "Today's qualifying session was a bit difficult for us. In QP1 we encountered traffic and it was difficult to find a gap to make a good lap. Even so, we managed well in QP2, a session in which we were able to maintain a good pace for tomorrow. I'm not completely satisfied with the position, but tomorrow we'll give everything from the start to get back up".
Borja Gómez: "We added another day with the Moto2, and that's positive, because we continue to make progress with the bike and getting kilometers. Every day that passes I'm understanding more about how it works and I'm looking forward to the race to continue learning. I'm sure we can fight for a good result".
On the Superstock 600 side, Pasquale Alfano was just a step away from being among the three fastest riders. The Italian rider finished fourth with a lap in 1:38.213, a time he was able to do in QP1 and could not improve in the second session after a problem with his bike that prevented him from completing the session. For his part, Filip Řeháček was tenth with a best time of 1:38.831 and showed an encouraging pace ahead of tomorrow's race.
Pasquale Alfano: "I am quite happy with our day. It was a pity that we broke the engine in the second qualifying session because we knew we could have improved and we had a chance to get to third place. Still we are happy, we are ready and I hope we will have a good race tomorrow."
Filip Řeháček: "I'm happy with the work both the team and I have done. In our category we are all very close, so tomorrow it is a real possibility to fight for the top 5 positions, even the podium. For that we will have to make a good start and fight from the start to finish the season in the best possible shape."
In addition, Vasilis Panteleakis finished the Hawkers European Talent Cup repechage race in twelfth position, so the Greek driver was unable to qualify for the final race of the season.
