Cardoso Racing closes the season in Valencia with the last round of the JuniorGP
The team led by José Luis Cardoso will compete in the Valencian track with Roberto García, Borja Gómez, Filip Řeháček, Pasquale Alfano and Vasilis Panteleakis.
The 2022 season comes to an end at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Cardoso Racing is ready to dispute the last round of the FIM JuniorGP, a championship in which the Andalusian team has shown a good progression with all its riders in the different categories in which it participates.
Cardoso Racing arrives in Valencia in top form, especially in the Moto2 category. In this class, in addition to Roberto García, Cardoso Racing will count on the presence of the Spanish Supersport 600 champion and national Superbike runner-up, Borja Gómez. The rider from Murcia landed in Spain recently after making his debut in the Moto2 World Championship at the Malaysian Grand Prix, a race that he disputed in replacement of Jorge Navarro in the Flexbox HP40, the team managed by Sito Pons.
In his case, Roberto García will be looking for his first podium of the season in Valencia. After completing a year in which he has shown excellent growth with the Moto2, the Andalusian rider is getting closer and closer to the first classified riders.
Roberto Garcia: "I hope this weekend goes very well for us, since last weekend in Aragon we made a good step forward, also this season we have advanced in each race little by little. Every time I get on the bike I'm getting a better feeling and this weekend I feel especially comfortable. I think that if we continue in this line we will finish the weekend very well".
Borja Gómez: "I am adapting better and better to the Moto2 and I feel better and better. In Malaysia I rode the Moto2 for the first time and I understood the style I have to take with this bike. Here we have arrived in Valencia with very good expectations, but the goal is still to keep learning, going better and better and of course having fun, and then the results will come".
On the Superstock 600 side, Filip Řeháček is already recovered from his recent injury and hopes to finish the season with a good result, while Pasquale Alfano continues to get closer to the podium positions despite being one of the newcomers to the category.
Filip Řeháček: "We arrive in Valencia after being a couple of weeks of very hard training focused on doing well in the race, which is our goal. We want to be up front and we have to work for it. We finished the first day with a very good feeling and a lot of advanced work, so I hope to continue in the same line in tomorrow's sessions. Thank you very much to the team for their work.
Pasquale Alfano: "The second part of the season has been pretty good for me. I hope we continue to grow this weekend as we have been doing in the last few races. I think we are very close to the top, but we have one last step to go. We are there and the team is working in an excellent way, so I'm happy".
In addition, Vasilis Panteleakis wants to qualify again for the final race of the Hawkers European Talent Cup on Sunday. The Greek driver has been competitive in the last races and knows this circuit, so he arrives with high hopes.
Vasilis Panteleakis: "I am very happy to be in Valencia, this is one of my favorite circuits. Today in the first free practice we had a good feeling even though we couldn't go out for the last practice in the afternoon, but I'm happy with my first contact with the circuit. Let's keep working!"
